CBS newsmagazine “60 Minutes” will air its interview with Stephanie Clifford, an actress who appears in pornographic films as “Stormy Daniels,” this Sunday night.
Clifford, who claims she had an affair with President Donald Trump from the summer of 2006 to early 2007, has not spoken publicly about their alleged relationship, though her attorney has strongly implied Sunday’s interview will broach the sordid details of their supposed liaisons.
Trump denies extramarital relations with Clifford.

Early Sunday morning, Clifford attorney Michael Avenatti cautioned “60 Minutes” is unlikely to broadcast the full body of evidence his team assembled, regarding the alleged affair with Trump and a subsequent campaign to silence his client ahead of the 2016 election.

It appears a video recording is among the pieces of evidence in their possession. A cryptic Thursday evening tweet from Avenatti included a picture of a DVD with the hashtag “please deny it.”
The segment will include a legal treatment of the $130,000 payment Cohen transmitted to Clifford, CBS said. Watchdog groups like the Campaign Legal Center say the remittance may have violated campaign finance laws, though the particulars of such a violation aren’t yet clear.
The program will air at 7:00 pm Eastern Standard Time. CNN and “60 Minutes” correspondent Anderson Cooper conducted the interview.
Clifford gave the interview despite the fact Trump-aligned lawyers obtained a preliminary restraining order against her from a private arbitrator in late February 2018. Under the terms of a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) Clifford executed with Trump Organization general counsel Michael Cohen in October 2016, all disputes relating to their hush agreement are to be resolved in secret arbitration. Clifford no longer believes the contract is valid and is suing Cohen in state court to vindicate her rights to speak freely.
Trump’s legal team considered taking action to stop the broadcast, though they are unlikely to obtain an injunction at this late hour, sources close to the president’s lawyers said. What’s more, federal courts are loathe to preemptively suppress speech.
Trump returned to Washington Sunday from Mar-a-Lago, his beach retreat in Palm Beach, Fla. First Lady Melania Trump did not travel with him and plans to remain in Florida for the next several days.
