After over two weeks, Giants co-owner John Mara has finally addressed Odell Beckham Jr.’s alleged misbehavior after a suspicious video of the wide receiver surfaced in Paris.

The video, which shows Beckham Jr. smoking what appears to be a dark cigarette in bed with a French model and some suspicious white powder, caused online controversy and panic among Giants nation.

And after what seems like a prolonged stint of silence in New York, John Mara spoke to the press candidly about Odell’s behavior and whether it will affect his future with the Giants. The New York Post reports that Mara seemed less than thrilled to address the elephant in the room.

Speaking to the NFL Owner’s Meeting in Orlando this weekend, Mara said, “I’m tired of answering questions about Odell’s behavior and what the latest incident is. I think he knows what we expect of him, and now it’s up to him.”

Mara said the situation “wasn’t helpful” to Beckham’s situation. He was out most of last season due to a broken ankle and only has a year left in his contract.

But the Giants aren’t actively looking to unload him because of the incident alone.

“We’re certainly not shopping him, if that’s what you’re asking,” Mara continued. “When you’re coming off a season when you’re 3-13 and played as poorly as we played, I wouldn’t say anybody’s untouchable.”

So while the Giants may not actively be looking to trade Beckham, Mara told the press not to rule anything out. The biggest zinger came right at the end though, when Mara said he wasn’t angry.

“Angry? No, I mean, more disappointed than angry,” Mara said. “I think too often he allows himself to get put in bad situations and he needs to use a little better judgment.”

Yikes. Anybody who knows anything about being disciplined knows that this is probably the worst thing your superior can ever utter. It’s like a dagger straight through the heart. Odell better keep his head on a swivel after that one. If I were him, I’d stay locked up at home forever except for maybe offering to take out Mara’s garbage every week for the next decade. It’s his only chance at this point.
