An ETF ticker inspired by President Donald Trump’s campaign slogan has won ETF ticker of the year.

The fund is composed of “the top 150 Republican supporting companies in the S&P500 based on the political contributions of the PACs and employees,” Hal Lambert of Point Bridge Capital tells The Daily Caller. Lambert previously told TheDC the fund would include the top five Republican corporate entities AT&T, Marathon Petroleum, Home Depot, Exxon Mobil, and Altria.

“Corporations have been very active in political contributions and those effect the outcome of elections. Many are now becoming outwardly vocal in their attacks on President Trump and Republican policies to the detriment of their shareholders and the country. Investors need to support the companies that are supportive of President Trump and the Republican Party because that drives policy across the country.”

Lambert’s mission so far has seen success with an 8.83% gain since its inception in late September 2017.

Despite this, ETF.com named it the “Ticker of the Year” noting “No matter your political persuasion, you have to admit that Donald Trump’s campaign slogan, ‘Make America Great Again’ (MAGA for short) rolled right off the tongue, encapsulated a powerful message and resonated with millions of people.”

“The slogan was plastered on countless red hats and may have played a large part in Trump’s surprising election win in November 2016.”
