Los Angeles Rams star defensive lineman Aaron Donald for some mind-boggling reasons uses knives in his off-season training.
A video has been circulating the web of Donald practicing exploding off of the line, but he’s not going up against an offensive linesman.
He’s going up against a guy with two knives. You read that correctly. Donald is practicing getting off the line against a guy armed with two knives swinging at him.
This is an awesome video, but I’m not sure why Donald thinks this is necessary. What is to be gained by practicing for a knife fight? I get that football players are generally a bit crazy, but this is just on a different level.
Also, how are the Rams allowing this to happen? Donald is one of the best players in the league, and probably shouldn’t be near anything that can injure him. Look, the knives are awesome, but accidentally getting stabbed is far from awesome.
Maybe practice hitting the sled or getting in some cardio. Leave the knives for ninjas and just about anybody else.
