Arnold Schwarzenegger assured fans on Monday that he is “back” after undergoing heart surgery late last week, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

“It’s true: I’m back! I went to sleep expecting to wake up with a small incision and woke up with a big one–but guess what? I woke up, and that’s something to be thankful for,” the 7o-year-old actor and former California governor captioned his post on Instagram. “Thank you to the doctors & nurses. And I’m truly filled with gratitude for all of the kind messages from all of you.”

Reports earlier in the day mistakenly stated that the action movie hero had undergone emergency open-heart surgery.

Schwarzenegger is in stable condition and is awake after having a pulmonic valve replaced. He first had surgery for the valve in 1997.

“My statement on Governor @Schwarzenegger’s procedure,” a spokesmen for the former governor, Daniel Ketchell, tweeted after completion of the surgery.

Schwarzenegger is set to appear in the upcoming high-powered action franchise “Expendables 4,” an untitled “Terminator” reboot movie and an “Outrider” TV series.
