Geraldo Rivera delivered a brutal assessment of Russian President Vladimir Putin during an appearance on “Outnumbered” on Fox News Monday morning. Rivera responded to the Kremlin’s claim that President Donald Trump has invited Putin to the White House by calling Putin “a sore on the body of the world.”

Rivera also complained about what he has often called the “Russian Collusion illusion,” claiming that Trump couldn’t even “put Russian dressing on a salad” without someone calling him out.

After unloading a series of unfavorable comments about the Russian president, Rivera said that if the reports were accurate, it was a good thing that the two leaders would be sitting down for a real discussion.

White House deputy press secretary Raj Shah released a statement confirming that the two leaders had at least discussed a possible meeting in the near future.

“As the President himself confirmed on March 20, hours after his last call with President Putin, the two had discussed a bilateral meeting in the ‘not-too-distant future’ at a number of potential venues, including the White House.”
