Josh Rosen’s former head coach Jim Mora is back to making strange comments about the star quarterback.

The former UCLA Bruins leader already kicked up a storm when he advocated for the Cleveland Browns taking Sam Darnold over Rosen with the first pick of the draft.

He apparently isn’t walking anything back, and continued with his strange analyses. Mora told Sports Illustrated’s Peter King the following:

He needs to be challenged intellectually so he doesn’t get bored. He’s a millennial. He wants to know why. Millennials, once they know why, they’re good. Josh has a lot of interests in life. If you can hold his concentration level and focus only on football for a few years, he will set the world on fire. He has so much ability, and he’s a really good kid.

What is Mora doing? I understand the point, but this is coming off really poorly. NFL general managers and coaches don’t want to hear about how a kid needs to be “challenged intellectually,” that a guy struggles to “hold” his concetration or that they have “a lot of interests in life.”

GMs and coaches want to hear the only thing a player cares about is football and that he is focused on it every second of the day. That’s music to an executive’s ears. What’s not music to their ears is hearing about how a guy might not be focused. Mora might think he’s helping out here, but he’s not. He needs to stop talking about Rosen until the draft is over.

I’d be furious if I was Rosen – absolutely furious with the fact my former coach is out here cutting out my legs from underneath me before the draft. Might be time to pick up the phone and put an end to this whole situation.
