Left-wing activist group Media Matters has taken credit for doing the research that led to Deadspin’s video of Sinclair Broadcasting anchors reading an editorial script against fake news.
The establishment media has had a collective meltdown over the Sinclair script, calling it “chilling,” “dangerous,” “concerning,” and “propaganda.” (RELATED: Montage: Establishment Media Very ‘Concerned’ About Sinclair’s ‘Propaganda’)
“Sinclair video making rounds…was largely possible because a dedicated and dutiful @pamela_vogel spent 100s of hours monitoring Sinclair and first compiled the examples,” Angelo Carusone, the president of Media Matters, tweeted.
This got a little lost. But: Sinclair video making rounds (which is amazingly well done. huge kudos to deadspin) was largely possible because a dedicated and dutiful @pamela_vogel spent 100s of hours monitoring Sinclair and first compiled the examples: https://t.co/0iJLNi47PM

“Without [Pamela’s] efforts and expertise, we’d all be a lot less informed about the harms of Sinclair,” he continued.
This is in no way a criticism of anyone. I want to note it because @pamela_vogel has been doing some pretty unique, important and amazing work on Sinclair for a while now. Without her efforts and expertise, we’d all be a lot less informed about the harms of Sinclair.

Oh, and don’t forget that it was @brianstelter who first reported on the existence of these ads weeks ago.
These things don’t just happen out of nowhere. They get exposed because of the journalism that Brian does and the research that people like @pamela_vogel does. I’m grateful

Sinclair has defended the scripts they sent to anchors, saying they were intended to keep trust with viewers.
