The New York Times front page opted to represent this year’s White House Easter Egg Roll with a photo of a child crying.
The front page, as first pointed out by The Washington Free Beacon, features an above-the-fold photo of two young girls at the egg roll. One of the girls is bawling and the caption reads, “Maybe Hers Wasn’t Hard-Boiled.”
“Victoria Ewers was less pleased than her sister Elle on Monday at the White House Easter Egg Roll, a tradition that dates to 1878,” the caption continued.
The sad photo is not accompanied by any stories about Trump’s Easter Egg Roll or more joyous photos of smiling children or the First Family. Instead, the front page is littered with negatively-framed stories about Trump’s tariff policy, his relationship with Russia, and ethics questions about EPA chief Scott Pruitt.
