MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle asserted on Wednesday that “no one wins a war,” whether it is a trade war or a “shooting” war.

WATCH:

Ruhle spent much of her show on Wednesday railing against Trump’s new sanctions on Chinese goods, arguing that they would be destructive to the market and would put the U.S. on the losing side of a trade war with China.

In a segment first pointed out by The Washington Free Beacon, Ruhle played comments from Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, who asserted that the trade war instituted by President Donald Trump would likely end in negotiations that are favorable to the United States.

“Even shooting wars end in negotiations? Let’s make something clear,” Ruhle said. “In war, death and destruction ensue and no one wins a war.”

Ruhle continued the segment by slamming Ross for being surprised that the markets fell after Trump’s tariff announcements.
