A woman is facing attempted homicide, kidnapping and arson charges after allegedly setting her ex-boyfriend on fire during Easter dinner.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that the woman had her ex-boyfriend over for Easter dinner and asked him to fix a leaky pipe. He complied. That’s when the suspect, Shivon Perez, approached the man with a container.

The victim, who remains unidentified, asked what was in the container. Perez, 38, from Altamonte Springs, then replied “It’s gasoline, you son of a [expletive],” and “you are going to pay,” according to a police report.

The suspect doused the man with the liquid and he was soon on fire. He attempted to remove the clothing and exit the burning building, but Perez then sprayed additional liquid on the living room floor and locked the door in an attempt to contain the man inside the building.

At some point, both victim and suspect were outside, but Perez re-entered the burning apartment to save her dog.

The ex-boyfriend was treated at the Orlando Regional Medical Center for severe burns on his face, arm, neck, chest and hand.

Perez was treated for smoke inhalation and was intubated and sedated.
