UFC president Dana White said late Wednesday afternoon that Conor McGregor is headed back to the UFC in 2018.

“Conor is coming back this year 100 percent. He will fight this year,” White told the media at a press conference for UFC 223.

This is music to my ears. We have gone way too long without seeing McGregor crack some skulls in the octagon.

The man is a freak of nature when it comes to fighting. Yes, his boxing match with Floyd Mayweather was fun, and I hope we get some more action between those two.

However, I also want to see McGregor get back to his natural habitat in the octagon.

In the name of fighting

It’s interesting to note that White didn’t say who McGregor would fight in a return or give a specific date.

I can guarantee that the UFC will pull out all the stops to hype his return in a way that we haven’t seen before. He’s an ATM for the league, and they know it. McGregor’s return will be a show unlike one we’ve ever seen before.
