A clip of Trump’s Thursday remarks were played on “MSNBC Live With Velshi and Ruhle.”

“Women are raped at levels nobody has ever seen before. They don’t want to mention that,” Trump said.

“Maybe the reason they don’t want to mention it, is because the president isn’t telling the truth,” Stephanie Ruhle said. “Of course, this kind of racist language is nothing new for President Donald Trump.”

Trump said in West Virginia Thursday, “Remember my opening remarks at Trump Tower when I opened, everybody said, ‘Oh, he was so tough.’ and I used the word rape.”

“And yesterday it came out with this journey coming up, women are raped at levels that nobody has ever seen before. They don’t want to mention that. So we have to change our laws. It’s insanity I don’t–nobody understands what’s going on. so we have to have a strong border.” (RELATED: Trump: Women Are Getting Raped ‘At Levels Never Seen Before’ During Border Crossings)
