Hospital staffers delivered a pregnant woman’s baby after she was shot in the head Thursday night in Ohio.
The woman was 30 weeks pregnant when she was shot by her boyfriend after an altercation in western Ohio, authorities told The Springfield News-Sun. Authorities immediately took the woman, who was at least 30 weeks pregnant, to the hospital by helicopter where she received a cesarean section.
“He would tell us he and (the victim) were arguing and this led to the two of them shoving each other,” a probable cause affidavit filed in Clark County Municipal Court said. “During the shoving, Travis said he reach into his right pocket and pulled out a pistol. She shoved him again after seeing the gun, so he shoved her back with both hands. His right hand had the gun in it and as he shoved her and it discharged.”
Police arrested 24-year-old Travis Hypes Friday for a felony assault charge, he reportedly shot her with a handgun.
Conditions of the woman, whose name has not yet been released, and her baby are still unknown.
