Madeleine Albright invoked Nazism as a warning about what could possibly happen in the United States on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Wednesday.

“We all saw the horrors of fascism,” she said, in reference to her family’s own experience in Europe. “I later found out that 26 members of my family died in the Holocaust. And so, I understand this. And I understand when we don’t pay attention.”

“The country that I was born in was sold down the river because of appeasement and the Munich agreement. And I think that that’s what I’m warning about, it’s these steps that people think don’t matter, and it’s normalizing the abnormal. And that’s why I think it’s a warning. And Joe and Mika and Willie, what I have said, you know that statement, ‘see something, say something,’ I’ve added to that–‘do something.’ And that’s what I’m advocating.”

Albright has a new book out called, “Fascism: A Warning.”
