A new study shows that the release of former FBI director James Comey’s new book renewed CNN’s obsession with the rumored Trump “pee tape.”

During his interview tour for “A Higher Loyalty,” Comey re-upped the salacious dossier accusation that the Russian government has tapes of Trump engaging in golden showers with prostitutes.

“I honestly never thought these words would come out of my mouth, but I don’t know whether the current President of the United States was with prostitutes peeing on each other in Moscow in 2013,” Comey said during an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopolous.

According to the Media Research Center, CNN took Comey’s cue and ran with the unverified story, repeating it 77 times between April 12 and April 16.

On April 13, the network repeated the claim a whopping 48 times, while 28 of the 77 mentions came from CNN replaying Comey’s ABC interview.

MRC analysts found that CNN used various dirty phrases such as “prostitutes urinating on each other,” “golden showers,” and of course, “pee tape.”

CNN did not respond to The Daily Caller’s request for comment on the network’s coverage of Comey’s comments.
