NBC’s Savannah Guthrie held James Comey’s feet to the fire during a Wednesday morning interview on “Today.”

“Terrifying,” Comey told Guthrie when she asked how it feels to have his new book, “A Higher Loyalty,” out in the public eye. “Just because of all the attention to it. I don’t crave that. It’s hard for me to hide because I’m a giraffe.”
“Yeah. You are shorter in person,” Guthrie answered with a smile on her face. “I did have to say.”
“It still seems raw. It seems like you have some scores to settle,” she continued. “A little bit of anger left over, a little bit of bitterness.”
“Some people have said that was kind of, for lack of a better word, that was a little catty. Did you enjoy taking those shots at the president?”
Comey pushed back against the question and said he really wasn’t taking shots at president Trump, yet Guthrie continued her line of aggressive questioning.
“You have really made some strong assertions against the president. You’ve said he’s morally unfit, you said he’s lied almost constantly,” she continued. “You are the star witness, perhaps, in Former Director [Robert] Mueller’s investigation into obstruction of justice. Your testimony against President Trump’s testimony.”
“Are you concerned you’re making that prosecution tougher? Because you’ve been out there and demonstrated that you do have a bias against the president.”
“Yeah that was going to be pretty obvious to begin with,” Comey conceded. “He fired me.”
