President Donald Trump floated the idea Monday of adding an immigration enforcement provision to a new version of the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Trump is currently renegotiating the NAFTA agreement with Canada and Mexico after consistently criticizing it during the 2016 presidential campaign. The President often invokes the NAFTA agreement as a key bargaining chip in trying to force Mexico to quell illegal immigrant arrivals.

Trump went so far as to threaten totally ending the agreement if Mexico did not stop a large caravan of illegal immigrants bound for the U.S. through its territory.
