Vice President Mike Pence is slated to deliver a keynote speech to the National Rifle Association in Dallas next month, according to a Tuesday announcement from the gun rights group.

The address by Pence to the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action Leadership Forum will be the highlight of a long list of prominent speakers, including Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts and Texas Senators Ted Cruz and Jon Cornyn.

Pro-Trump social media personalities Diamond and Silk will also be there.

In a news release announcing the event, the NRA said that their meeting “kicks off the 2018 election cycle and will feature a powerful lineup of pro-freedom speakers.”

“It’s an honor to have Vice President Pence address our members in Dallas,” wrote NRA-ILA executive director Chris Cox on the NRA-ILA website. “He is a lifetime supporter of the Second Amendment and he has a long a record of fighting to defend our freedoms. Now more than ever we need principled people in public office who will fight to defend the Constitution. Our members are excited to hear him speak and thank him for his service.”

The event will take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Arena from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4.

Throughout his legislative and gubernatorial career, Pence has been a staunch advocate of the Second Amendment and a supporter and member of the NRA.
