President Donald Trump praised hip hop stars Kanye West and Chance the Rapper for speaking out in favor of him in recent tweets.

West and Chance the Rapper have set off a media sensation with recent praise of Trump drawing significant ire from their colleagues in the entertainment industry. West also tweeted an image of himself wearing POTUS’ signature “Make America Great Again” hat.

Chance the Rapper came to defense of West noting that:

The president addressed West’s support in a Thursday Fox & Friends interview saying: “I get along with Kanye. I get along with a lot of people frankly, but Kanye looks and he sees black unemployment at the lowest it’s been in the history of our country, okay?”

“He sees Hispanic unemployment at the lowest it’s been in the history of our country. He sees by the way female unemployment, women unemployment, the lowest it’s been in now almost 19 years. He sees that stuff and he’s smart.”
