A CNN tweet on Monday appeared to suggest that people should not be angry that a three-time cop killer is being released on parole.
Herman Bell, who was a member of the Black Liberation Army, was convicted for his part in the deadly ambush of three police officers in 1971. While CNN links to an article outlining the debate as to whether or not Bell should have received parole, the tweet itself has been criticized for downplaying the extent of his crimes.
“Herman Bell is a three-time cop killer — and that’s all that matters to those angry over the New York Board of Parole’s decision to release the 70-year-old,” CNN wrote.

Ummm. perhaps because that’s all that matters? A three time cop killer, should never see the light of day. He should have been executed.
