President Donald Trump took aim at the annual White House correspondents dinner after its featured comedienne delivered a controversial monologue.

The comedienne, Michelle Wolf, told derogatory jokes about White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders throughout the dinner prompting an apology from the White House Correspondents Association.

“Last night’s program was meant to offer a unifying message about our common commitment to a vigorous and free press while honoring civility, great reporting and scholarship winners, not to divide people. Unfortunately, the entertainer’s monologue was not in the spirit of that mission,” WHCA president Margaret Talev said in a Sunday night statement.
