Andrew Pollack lost his daughter in the Parkland school massacre, and he’s now suing the people he views as responsible for her death.

Meadow Pollack was killed minutes into the shooting. Meanwhile, sheriff’s deputy assigned to the school, Scot Peterson, hid outside the building.

Pollack filed a wrongful death lawsuit Monday against Peterson, shooter Nikolas Cruz and a wide array of individuals who had responsibility over Cruz in the years and months before the shooting.

Pollack told The Daily Caller, “I’m doing this because of the injustice of my daughter’s unnecessary death.”

“This guy could have ended it on the first floor,” he continued, “Instead he let six more people die. My daughter would want me to speak up for her. The love I have for my daughter is unmeasurable.”

Peterson was suspended after it came to light that he stood outside the building during the massacre. He has since resigned and retired from the Broward County Sheriff’s office.

Pollack told TheDC that Peterson should not be allowed to retire “with a full pension on the beach” after allowing a gunman to kill his daughter while she “shielded her fellow classmates.”

The lawsuit calls Peterson a “coward” and claims that he “cowered in a safe location between two concrete walls” during the shooting.

President Trump also attacked Peterson publicly in the fallout of the shooting, calling him a “coward” in February.

“When it came time to get in there and do something, he didn’t have the courage or something happened. That’s a case where somebody was outside, they’re trained, they didn’t act properly or under pressure or they were a coward. It was a real shock to the police department.”
