White House deputy press press secretary Raj Shah took aim at comedienne Michelle Wolf’s performance Saturday at the White House Correspondents’ Association annual dinner.
“I was at the dinner on Saturday night and I think that when you have a room filled with probably more liberal journalists, celebrities and other types and lose the room when you make jokes about the president you are probably not that funny,” Shah declared.
Wolf’s performance has been criticized for personally attacking White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway.
President Donald Trump also took aim at Wolff’s performance on twitter saying:
The White House Correspondents’ Dinner was a failure last year, but this year was an embarrassment to everyone associated with it. The filthy “comedian” totally bombed (couldn’t even deliver her lines-much like the Seth Meyers weak performance). Put Dinner to rest, or start over!
