CNN’s April Ryan responded to a dust up with White House press secretary Sarah Sanders in the briefing room on Thursday.
Ryan claimed during the briefing that Sanders was “blindsided” by Rudy Giuliani’s Fox interview the night before, to which Sanders responded, “With all due respect, you actually don’t know much about me in terms of what I feel and what I don’t.” (RELATED: Sarah Sanders Wipes The Floor With April Ryan)
Appearing on CNN with a panel later that afternoon, Ryan responded to Sanders and claimed she never meant to make her question “personal.”
“Well, I’m just leaving the briefing room and I had to decompress,” Ryan said. “It was a moment. She took this personally, and it was not a personal attack.”
“She admitted at that podium just moments ago — I’m sure she’s watching in that office, hi, Sarah, — she literally said, at that podium that she heard Rudy Giuliani while we heard it…so she was blindsided.”
Ryan again insisted that it was not a “personal attack” before calling Sanders “street” for coming back at her.
“And for her to say you don’t know me…that was very, um, street,” she said. “I know there’s street politics here but that was very street. I’ve been here for 21 years at this White House…I understand the process, I’m not a dummy and do not discredit me.”
