Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter have both confirmed they will be coming back for one more excellent adventure in a third time-travel comedy movie in “Bill and Ted Face The Music.”
According to Deadline, the production house Bloom launched sales at the 71st annual Cannes Film Festival in France Tuesday. The threequel is already in pre-production with the original creators Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon as the writers and Dean Parisot on board to direct the next adventure 29 years after we saw the two high school kids in the first movie, “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure,” in 1989.
“We couldn’t be more excited to get the whole band back together again. Chris and Ed wrote an amazing script, and with Dean at the helm we’ve got a dream team,” the two actors told the press.
Reeves and Winter will once again play “Theodore” Logan and Bill S. Preston Esq. But now instead of being two kids trying to ace their history class and win Battle of the Bands, they are two middle-aged dads with family obligations who have yet to save the universe with their music as prophesized.
According to the production information, the two best friends have written a lot of music, but have yet to compose the one that saves the future, as we learned when they travel through time in “Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey” in 1991. The pair will go on one more time-travel adventure, this time with their daughters, and meet a whole bunch of new historic figures to fulfill their destiny.
