When I think of the term “utility knife,” some form of pocketknife comes to mind. I received this Shun utility knife 10 years ago as a present and have used it on an everyday basis since then. This is a true utility knife and gets used most often in my kitchen while looking as good as the first time I held it in my hand. The super strong steel is a bit difficult to sharpen but the knife holds the edge for a long time so sharpening often is not necessary. The handle is very comfortable for my small hand as I found all Shun knifes to be very well balanced for smaller hands. My Shun knife collection has grown significantly since I received the utility knife and my gifts of Shun knives have been greatly appreciated as well. The cost of the knife is more than justified by the workmanship and the quality. I highly recommend it.
