MSNBC commentator Steve Schmidt claimed Thursday that Trump’s role in securing three American prisoners’ release from North Korea was “all about him.”

“He has a complete incapacity for human empathy,” Schmidt said in a completely serious tone.
Schmidt insisted that Trump bring home the American prisoners in North Korea “is about Donald Trump. It’s about the ratings.”
The former Republican strategist insisted that Trump “works for the American people” and that he swore an oath to do so, but that Trump “doesn’t seem capable” of understanding that oath.
The American prisoners returned home after weeks of speculation on whether or not they would be released from North Korea. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo traveled to North Korea Tuesday to plan an upcoming summit between President Trump and Kim Jong Un. Pompeo returned with the three Americans early Thursday morning in D.C.
