Famous designer and fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld says he’ll revoke his German citizenship if the current policies continue to allow Muslim migrants to flood the country and inspire neo-Nazis to rise.

Lagerfeld has frequently criticized Chancellor Angela Merkel for accepting 1 million migrants into Germany from Syria and elsewhere, and says the decision fueled the rise Germany’s populist Nazi sympathizers.

“Did [Merkel] really need to say it was necessary to welcome one million migrants at a time when France, which casts itself as the land of human rights, pledged to take in 30,000?” Lagerfeld said in an interview with Le Point, a French newspaper, released Thursday.

“The [Alternative for Germany party] didn’t exist, yet with one sentence she made it exist by alienating two million voters and sending 100 of these neo-Nazis into parliament,” Lagerfeld said, referring to the election of 92 lawmakers to German parliament in September.

“If this keeps up, I’ll abandon German citizenship,” Lagerfeld said, adding that Merkel is a “pastor’s daughter who can’t accept the evil that Germany carried out after 1933.”

After winning nearly 100 seats in the parliament, the AfD leaders promised to “reclaim” Germany. (RELATED: German Populists Vow To ‘Hunt’ Merkel, ‘Reclaim’ Country After Election Success)

“Dear friends, now that we’re obviously the third biggest power … the government has to buckle up,” Alexander Gauland said after finishing third in the September election. “We will hunt them. We will hunt Ms Merkel … and we will reclaim our country and our people.”

Lagerfeld didn’t say where he might go if he does indeed renounce his German citizenship, though France is an obvious possibility. “I like [French President Emmanuel] Macron personally, and [his wife] Brigitte, but that doesn’t mean I want to become French,” Lagerfeld told Le Point.

Lagerfeld put his views on Merkel and the danger of Muslim migrants plainly in a November interview: “One cannot — even if there are decades between them — kill millions of Jews so you can bring millions of their worst enemies in their place,” Lagerfeld told a French TV show.
