4-Year-Old Boy Attacked TWICE By Pit Bull In Winn-Dixie Parking Lot
A four-year-old boy is recovering from his severe injuries after he was viciously attacked by a pit bull at a Winn-Dixie parking lot in southwest Florida last week.
The boy was walking with his parents through the grocery store parking lot when a pit bull popped out from between cars and pounced on the toddler, WFTS reports.
The dog’s owner, identified as Stephanie Taylor, tried to pull back her animal from the young boy, but the pit managed to break free and attacked the child again — this time tearing off a piece of the victim’s cheek.
The boy suffered injuries to his face and shoulder in the brutal attack and had to be airlifted to a Tampa hospital. His parents plan to press charges against Taylor. The pit bull, named Sage, is currently in animal control custody.
Sage has a long history of violence. The pit bull attacked fellow canines in 2017 and bit an animal control officer in 2018, according to WFTS.
In spite of the pit bull targeting and mauling a young child for no reason, its owner insists her dog is really sweet, according to WPTV.
There are several cases of pit bulls attacking the young and the old. This week, a two-month-old baby in San Diego was attacked by a family friend’s pit bull as she slept.
On Wednesday, two pit bulls mauled to death a 75-year-old woman in Gulfport, Mississippi. (RELATED: Pit Bulls Kill Elderly Woman In Mississippi)
