President Donald Trump took aim at his predecessor for not responding forcefully enough to Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election in a Sunday tweet.

Trump has long charged that former President Barack Obama responded in a weak manner to Russian interference and has brushed off criticism that he should do more to counter the threat. Trump is particularly incensed at criticism that his administration has not done enough to combat the Russian threat.

Trump and the White House consistently cite the distribution of arms to Ukraine, robust economic sanctions on Russia, and the expelling of Russian diplomats to underscore the president’s point.
