“Roseanne” star Sara Gilbert slammed her co-host Roseanne Barr over what she called an “abhorrent” tweet about former Barack Obama aide Valerie Jarrett.

“Roseanne’s recent comments about Valerie Jarrett, and so much more, are abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show. I am disappointed in her actions to say the least,” the 43-year-old actress tweeted Tuesday.

The comments came following a now-deleted tweet a short time earlier from Barr commenting about Jarrett, who is African-American and born in Iran.

“muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj,” the 65-year-old actress tweeted.

The backlash was quick and she immediately issued an apology. But it was too late and ABC soon announced that they had canceled the popular reboot over the “repugnant” tweet.

“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said in a statement.

Gilbert later reacted to the cancellation calling the news “difficult.”

“This is incredibly sad and difficult for all of us, as we’ve created a show that we believe in, are proud of, and that audiences love — one that is separate and apart from the opinions and words of one cast member,” Gilbert tweeted.
