Trump: ‘We Always Proudly Stand’ For National Anthem

President Donald Trump reiterated his support for standing for the national anthem during his Tuesday rally in Nashville, Tennessee.

WATCH:

Just a week after the NFL announced it would require players on the field to stand for the Star Spangled Banner, Trump said at the rally that “we always proudly stand” for the anthem. (RELATED: Chuck Todd: NFL Sided With ‘White Consumers’ By Implementing Anthem Policy)

“We support the rule of law and we support the heroes of law enforcement,” Trump said to crowd applause. “And we defend our Constitution and we have confirmed…a record number of judges who will interpret the Constitution as written.”

“We have pride in our history and we have respect for our great American flag,” he added. “We put our hands on our hearts for the pledge of allegiance…and we always proudly stand for our national anthem.”

“Thank you,” he said as the crowd erupted. “What’s that all about?”
