Kathy Griffin blamed President Donald Trump after TBS host Samantha Bee issued an apology for calling White House adviser Ivanka Trump a “feckless c**t.”
“Please do not be hard on @iamsambee for apologizing. While I was hoping she wouldn’t, I know first hand what it’s like being put through the Trump wood chipper..what she’s going through right now is crazy,” the 57-year-old comedian tweeted Thursday to her millions of followers.

“All for a bleeped word. Comics held to higher standards than the president,” she added, along with a link to Bee’s apology for the “inexcusable” comment during her show “Full Frontal.”

Earlier, Griffin had pleaded with the TBS host to not apologize and claimed that the Trump administration was impeding Bee’s First Amendment rights after White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders called for the network to condemn the comment.
