In case you have been blissfully living under a rock for the past 24 hours, Kim Kardashian left her cushy existence in Calabasas, Calif., to make the long and dangerous trek to Washington, D.C.

While there, the reality TV star met with President Trump and Jared Kushner to talk prison reform. More specifically, Kim was advocating for a pardon for Alice Marie Johnson, who was convicted in 1996 for drug conspiracy and money laundering. And while the absurdity of the situation grabbed its fair share of headlines, it was the photo released after – and the media’s coverage of it – that really dominated ensuing internet banter. (RELATED: First Official Photo Of Historic Trump-Kim Meeting)

More specifically, it’s the front page of the New York Post that riled everyone up.

“Trump Meets Rump,” the headline reads, with some other cheeky references like “Kim Thong Un pitches prez on prison reform.”

Although Kim Kardashian is frequently photographed in thongs and this really shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone, Twitter erupted into chaos. (RELATED: Kim Kardashian Launching Her Own Lingerie Line)

Some saw it the headline as a form of sexism, while others simply saw the humor in it all.

No matter what side of the coin you’re on, it’s probably wise to remember that Kim has made an entire career out of self-objectification. That’s what got her a high profile visit to D.C. in the first place. So everyone should probably just lighten up, at least for today.
