First lady Melania Trump’s office responded to TBS comedian Samantha Bee’s profane tirade against presidential adviser Ivanka Trump by saying it was an example of an “astounding” double standard.
The official spokeswoman for the first lady, Stephanie Grisham, gave The Daily Caller an exclusive statement on the issue on behalf of Trump.
“The double standard is truly astounding,” Grisham told TheDC. “Time and again the Trump family and members of this Administration are subjected to false reporting, hateful rhetoric and outrageous lies all in the name of freedom of speech or comedy, yet the mainstream media stays silent.”

Bee called Ivanka Trump a “feckless c**t” in a segment targeting her for posting a photo with her daughter over the weekend. Ivanka posted this photo with her youngest child to draw the ire of the late night host:

Press secretary Sarah Sanders also commented, saying, “The language used by Samantha Bee last night is vile and vicious. The collective silence by the left and its media allies is appalling.”
Ivanka’s brother, Don Jr., also called out the double standard, asking if a host would get away with calling Obama’s wife or daughters the vulgar slur.
