An activist from the Women’s March claimed red lipstick is the ultimate feminist statement, she told Glamour Thursday.
Sarah Sophie Flicker, an actress, feminist activist and co-author of “Together We Rise: Behind the Scenes at the Protest Heard Around the World,” explained the power of wearing a red lipstick as a unifying force among women, she explained to Glamour magazine. Flicker claimed the lipstick shade is “universal” since it looks good on every skin tone. Therefore, it helps bring cohesion between feminist activists.
Flicker explained the use of lipstick created a strong sense of unity among the group’s organizers at the Women’s March. The feminist explained that during the 2017 Women’s March, many of the organizers arrived at 3 a.m. already wearing their red lipstick. The group of women were pleased that their makeup still was intact even 16 hours later. (RELATED: Last Week Showed The Clearest Problem With Modern Feminism)
