Trump revealed the meeting to reporters after meeting with North Korean envoy Kim Yong Chol in the Oval Office for nearly two hours. Chol is the most senior North Korean official to visit the White House since 2000 and hand-delivered a letter to Trump from North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un.
The president said he believes North Korea may eventually agree to denuclearization in exchange for economic assistance from the global community. Trump said Asian powers such as China, South Korea and Japan would economically assist North Korea.
