France removed two more illegal migrant camps in Paris that housed about 1,000 men on Monday.

French police removed two migrant camps on the Canal Saint-Martin and the Porte des Poissonniers, which housed many young male refugees, the Daily Mail reported. The migrant camp on the Porte des Poissonniers housed 400 men from Africa, mainly from Sudan, Somalia and Eritrea. The other camp on the Canal Saint-Martin was composed of 600 mainly male migrants from Afghanistan. “There was no resistance in either case — those involved cooperated fully,” one charity worker said, according to the Daily Mail. The migrants are now being placed in gyms. (RELATED: Italian Politician Says Sending Back Illegal Immigrants Is A Top Priority)

French police previously deported 1,500 migrants from the “Millenaire” camp, which was also composed of mainly young men of African origin. Gang violence, two men drowning in the river and unsanitary living conditions spurred the deportation. The migrants were also placed in gymnasiums before getting resettled on May 30.
