Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach Doug Pederson said he was disappointed in the cancellation of the Eagles trip to the White House in a press conference Wednesday morning.

“This is going to be a blanket statement and then I’m not going to discuss it further,” he said. “So, I was looking forward to going down obviously.”

“We did something last season that was very special. It’s a milestone here in the city of Philadelphia, our organization, and I was looking forward to going down and being recognized as world champions. It is what it is,” Pederson added before changing the subject back to the team.

Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles was reportedly one of the few players who was still expected to attend. (RELATED: The Super Bowl MVP Was Expected To Go To The White House)

The Eagles were scheduled to visit the White House Tuesday afternoon but the event was cancelled after a majority of players backed out.

Philadelphia is currently going through off season workouts with training camp coming up next month.
