Comedian Kathy Griffin used the tragic suicide of iconic designer Kate Spade to attack Ivanka Trump on Wednesday.
Trump responded to Spade’s death by encouraging those who were struggling to seek help and sharing information about a suicide prevention hotline.
Kate Spade’s tragic passing is a painful reminder that we never truly know another’s pain or the burden they carry. If you are struggling with depression and contemplating suicide, please, please seek help. https://t.co/eruSexNoGj

Griffin hit back, calling the first daughter “all talk.”

Griffin defended her comment by claiming that Trump deserved it for being part of an administration that was “making massive cuts to mental help funding.”
Wouldn’t attack her if she weren’t part of an administration making massive cuts to mental health funding..her messaging is all for show…she’s all talk…she’s feckless. https://t.co/C5sRv5lYpP

No @NiceDeb I was speaking out against Feckless’ hypocrisy. She talked about suicide prevention with respect to Kate Spade and meanwhile the Trump administration has made massive cuts to mental healthcare. https://t.co/NmuKmdnUOL

The number Trump shared, for The Lifeline’s suicide prevention hotline, is available 24/7 at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).
