Pippa Middleton confirmed that she is pregnant with her first child in her Waitrose Weekend magazine column called “Exercising During Pregnancy.”

“I was lucky to pass the 12-week scan without suffering from morning sickness,” wrote Middleton, sister of Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, according to the BBC Friday. (RELATED: 20 Reasons To Celebrate Pippa Middleton’s Birthday [SLIDESHOW])

“That meant I was able to carry [on] as normal and continue my sports,” she added. “I’ve noticed my body change but through exercise. I feel it’s being strengthened. Who knows what the next few weeks have in store?”

Her older sister Kate suffered severe morning sickness throughout all three of her pregnancies. In April, the duchess gave birth to her and Prince William’s third child, Prince Louis.

Rumors surfaced earlier this year that Pippa and her husband James Matthews were expecting their first child in October.

The good news also comes after a difficult time for the family after Matthews’ father, David Matthews, was accused of rape. He has denied the allegations and called them “untrue and scandalous.”

Pippa and Matthews, a hedge fund manager, tied the knot last May at St Mark’s Church in Englefield, England.
