French President Emmanuel Macron left his thumbprint on President Donald Trump — literally — as the two leaders shook hands at Friday’s G7 Summit.
Photos circulated on social media afterward showing a clear thumbprint impression on Trump’s hand, apparently left by Macron’s firm grip.

The thumbprint was clearly visible on Trump’s hand after Macron released it.
The two men have been engaged in an ongoing show of dominance, beginning with their first 29-second handshake that took place when President Trump visited France for Bastille Day.
The “show of force” culminated during France’s state visit to the White House with Macron’s double-cheek kiss and President Trump’s attempt to brush dandruff from the French president’s shoulder.(RELATED: Trump Arrives In France For Bastille Day — His Handshake With Macron [VIDEO])
Not every handshake between the two is a battle, however. Macron and Trump have enjoyed a mostly pleasant relationship since the former was elected president in May 2017.
