President Donald Trump took a shot at Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at a press conference in Singapore to discuss his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
“Justin probably didn’t know Air Force One has 20 televisions and I see the television, a news conference about how he will not be pushed around by the united States. Push him around? We just shook hands. It was very friendly … ” Trump said. Trump referenced his decision not to sign a joint communiqué after the prime minister’s press conference saying they would impose reciprocal tariffs if the U.S. followed through on its pledge.
Based on Justin’s false statements at his news conference, and the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs to our U.S. farmers, workers and companies, I have instructed our U.S. Reps not to endorse the Communique as we look at Tariffs on automobiles flooding the U.S. Market!

PM Justin Trudeau of Canada acted so meek and mild during our @G7 meetings only to give a news conference after I left saying that, “US Tariffs were kind of insulting” and he “will not be pushed around.” Very dishonest & weak. Our Tariffs are in response to his of 270% on dairy!

The president defended his relationship otherwise with Trudeau saying, “I have a good relationship with Justin Trudeau … He learned that [tariffs] will cost a lot of money for the people of Canada, you can’t do that. We had a very good relationship.”
