Oprah Just Signed A Deal With Apple

Apple announced a contract with Oprah Winfrey to create original programming for the company, Apple announced in a Friday press release.

“Together, Winfrey and Apple will create original programs that embrace her incomparable ability to connect with audiences around the world,” the press release reads.

The press release alluded to more deals in the future, stating that the programs “will be released as part of a lineup of original content from Apple.” (RELATED: Why Hasn’t Joy Behar Condemned Oprah For Suggesting God Speaks To Her?)

Apple is trying to move into the programming market, previously signing a deal for a series produced by and starring Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston It is also preparing a reboot of Steven Spielberg’s “Amazing Stories,” a true-crime drama series, and an Emily Dickinson-based series starring Hailee Steinfeld.

Winfrey will continue to put out content on her OWN network, as well as continuing her role heading up Harpo Productions.
