President Trump urged Democrats to work with Republicans in a bipartisan manner and come up with a solution to the issue of “border security and safety” on Twitter Sunday night.

Both parties have been receiving a lot of heat for the U.S. border patrol’s policy of separating parents from their children if they are apprehended trying to enter the country illegally. The president and the White House have blamed Democrats for enacting the laws in place, while others are criticizing the Trump administration. “Don’t wait until after the election because you are going to lose!” the president added in his message to the Democratic Party.

The president also tweeted about the Democrats in regards to the issue of familial separation at the border last Friday. He called the current border patrol policy a “horrible and cruel legislative agenda,” and he added a list of things that he wanted to see included in any pertinent bill.
