Metropolitan Police in London were called to the Southgate Tube station after reports of an explosion and people running out of the underground terminal.
Metropolitan Police now believe the explosion was caused by a battery short circuit, according to a recent update.
A small number of people are being treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service for minor injuries.
Officers remain at #Southgate tube station. Enquires are ongoing to establish the cause of a reported minor explosion at 19:03 hours. We are not aware of any serious injury.
