The wife of a cop killer committed suicide by jumping off a balcony at a nursing home in California just weeks after her husband was released on parole.

Nancy Jacot-Bell was married to Herman Bell, who was released from prison in April, despite the fact that he killed two New York City officers in 1971. Weeks after his release, Jacot-Bell threw herself off the fifth floor roof patio of a Bayside Park retirement home on May 12, The New York post reported Thursday.

Jacot-Bell and her husband got married 20 years into his 47-year sentence for killing of NYPD officers. She had two children with Bell.

Bell, a member of The Black Liberation Army (BLA), lured the two officers into an apartment building, where he then ambushed them, leaving them both dead, according to Fox News. (RELATED: New York Is Releasing Another Cop Killer)

The former BLA member is one of many cop killers in New York that are being granted parole. There are also reportedly two other NYPD cop killers in New York who are set to have parole hearings.

Ten of the 12 members on the New York parole board were appointed by Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
