Food from the cancelled Congressional picnic made its way to the tables of America’s wounded service members on Friday. The perishable foods — including a number of steaks that had been grilled ahead of time for the event — were delivered to recovering veterans, their families and staff at Walter Reed.

President Trump announced his plan to cancel the annual picnic on Wednesday, saying that it “just didn’t feel right.”
