If you are smart, you should be concerned about the electromagnetic fields, or EMF, of your surroundings. For all you know, you and your family might be constantly bombarded with electromagnetic radiation (EMR). If that is the case, you need to change it. But first you need to know if it is actually the case. That’s where an EMF meter comes in.

This handy device can test electric field radiation and magnetic field emission both indoors and outdoors. After reading the electromagnetism of an area, it will display the radiation value on the clear LCD digital display. Then you will know for sure if you need to make a change. It is under $30 with the code U45PGQIO.

Nearly 70 percent of customers gave this EMF meter a full 5 out of 5 stars. Renay wrote, “My expectations were far surpassed”:

Great inexpensive device for checking electronics and finding devices athat are drawing current even when they appear to be off.
I tested this on an old microwave transformer before I dismantled it to use as a low voltage, high current transformer and was surprised at how sensitive it was! I had the meter sitting about 6 feet away from the transformer than only had connections on the primary coil (input side) and nothing on the output side. And IMMEDIATELY as soon as I plugged in the power cord for the transformer the meter starting going off and picking up the EMF Radiation from quite a larger distance that I would have expected.
Now granted a transformer of that size definitely puts out a large EMF as anybody with a cordless phone and other similar devices knows as they’ve walked past a microwave running while using a device. As I inched closer the readings shot up higher and higher until I was about 5 inches away and the reading was off the chart and overloaded the device.
This was just an extreme test to see how well it performed and I must admit, it works pretty darn well for the one job it has, and how cheap this device is.
If you want something like this for a hobby, or just to experiment which electronics then this would definitely be a good choice to keep in the toolbox as you never know when it’s going to come in handy!!

Film Gal wrote that this is “A solid buy for home EMF detection”:
